In 2010, Toyota and Saatchi & Saatchi launched an interactive Facebook campaign called “Auto-Biography”, in which real-life Toyota owners shared personal stories about their Toyota vehicles. The campaign went semi-viral, with over 10,000 people submitting auto-related anecdotes. Seven of these stories were selected to be translated into animated short films, including this one from Hornet director Julia Pott, which tells the tale of Drew Arthur, an easygoing Los Angeles dweller who spends a lot of time in his Toyota Corolla. With her distinctive animal characters, Julia animates Drew’s story about doomed relationships, ill-fated road trips, and the bumpy ride to adulthood in this “every Toyota has a story” spot.
