It all starts with the square. A metaphorical nod to the Squarespace name, a stylized framing system, and a portal into the world of possibilities for Squarespace customers, the humble square is the source of all elements in this campaign.
Sander Plug is known for creating worlds that ooze elegance. In this campaign for Squarespace, his eye for detail is, as usual, on full display. But it’s his martyr-like commitment to the particular that makes the spot so completely, utterly, inexhaustibly easy on the eye. Modern nail art, dogs to sell interiors, stark floral arrangements, even dripping honey—these chic films demonstrate to viewers that anyone can elevate their individual brands through the Squarespace portal.
It all starts with the square. A metaphorical nod to the Squarespace name, a stylized framing system, and a portal into the world of possibilities for Squarespace customers, the humble square is the source of all elements in this campaign.
Six different scenes are set up. Thematically, each one is designed to showcase various ways customers can use the Squarespace service.
The star of the show in these graphics is the UI itself. No frivolous bells and whistles, just a good old-fashioned tour of the Squarespace interface.
Aesthetically, each scene features active shapes and products, which are then framed within the boundaries of the square. It sets up a pleasing juxtaposition. The untamable is tamed. Individuality is harnessed. A brand's uniqueness is bottled. And the Squarespace message is expertly delivered.
