Continuing Hornet’s longstanding relationship with McDonald’s and Leo Burnett London, this holiday spot, directed by Peter Sluszka, takes the Happy Meal “Happy” characters straight into the heart of the Hasbro gaming world. The goal was to promote the latest games inside the Happy Meal boxes, while simultaneously making it festive and fun. Peter and co. took that brief and ran with it. Or, perhaps, more seasonally relevant, they dashed, danced, and pranced with it, creating a joyous CG world filled with snow-covered cabins and ornament-strewn Christmas trees. It’s from this festive setting that the Happy characters rambunctiously plunge into the worlds of two different Hasbro games: Jenga and Hungry Hungry Hippo. Shrinking and shape-shifting to inhabit these worlds, the characters are as lovable as ever, and the overall spot is feel-good and effective.

Peter Sluszka, winner of various awards and accolades, may be the most calm and patient director in the business. With strong roots in stop motion, it’s easy to understand why. It also helps that he's gleaned a thing or two from his time working alongside the legendary Michel Gondry.
Peter is a skilled mixed-media director, but above all, he is a clever designer and a fabrication whiz. It's not uncommon to find him fully immersed in a project and getting his hands dirty with set design, fabrication, or even animation.
Having directed original content animation, commercial productions, music videos, television series, and feature films, Peter's portfolio is brimming with live action, CG, and stop-motion feats. He’s manipulated everything from traditional foam latex puppets to meat, origami, snow, yarn and (literally) tons of clay.
