Marilyn Myller is a short film from Parabella filmmaker and BAFTA award-winning director Mikey Please. Marilyn Myller premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, where it won the McLaren Award for Best British Animation. It also screened at Sundance, SXSW, Annecy, Clermont-Ferrand, and dozens more. The short has won top awards and recognition from Ottawa Animation, Chicago Film Fest, ADC, Melbourne Animation, Encounters SFF, and more. Using stop motion to bring hundreds of hand-made sculptures and foam puppets to life under a dramatically lit black and white backdrop, this film follows an artist who creates, and then destroys, statuettes. The theme explores the middle ground between creation and destruction, with a meta and satiral commentary on the art world itself expertly molded into it.
