Hornet is seeking a CG Design Intern to join the 3D department. The ideal candidate is equal parts concept artist and concept designer, you make beautiful styleframes and can build relatively production-ready CG assets from scratch. You are comfortable working across the CG pipeline from modeling and look development through animation, lighting, and compositing. Interns may work with live action footage, digital photography, rendered CG elements, and generative AI tools to help bring ideas to life. We’re looking for someone who enjoys experimenting, iterating quickly, and collaborating closely with creatives and leads to develop visually striking work.
Projects may range from photo-real product visualization to more abstract design explorations, often blending 2D, 3D, AI-generated imagery, and mixed media.

Responsibilities:
- Create concept art, styleframes and 3d assets for pitches and production
- Explore generative asset creation using AI tools such as Runway, Kling, Veo, Midjourney, or Stable Diffusion to support concept development and visual exploration
- Rapidly prototype visual ideas and design iterations using both traditional CG workflows and AI-assisted tools
- Support the CG team by working on new shots or revising existing shots as needed
- Use artistic and technical skills to work on all aspects of CG assets or shots for photo-real or stylized projects, employing a variety of software programs, and working under the general supervision of Senior CG Artists and CG Leads
- Assist in integrating AI-generated elements into traditional pipelines including Adobe Creative Cloud and other design tools to help accelerate creative development
- Participate as a team member in determining various aesthetic and technical solutions; receive feedback from other members of the production by attending dailies on a regular basis and participate in creative problem solving
- Work to meet defined milestones within a project’s established timeline
- Construct models that match established designs, meeting the requirements of rigging / animation, and render efficiently
- Set up shaders for look development
- Utilize lighting setups to create imagery that are convincing and render efficiently
Qualifications:
- The candidate should have strong design abilities, a good eye for composition, and a proven ability in one or more CG techniques, including modeling, look development, rigging, animation, lighting, or compositing
- The candidate should be highly self motivated, proactive, and team oriented with a high level of problem-solving and creative thinking skills
- Must be able to communicate clearly, take constructive criticism and conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner in the workplace
- Familiar with AI models, processes, and tools used for generative content creation
- Working knowledge of tools such as Midjourney, Kling, Veo, or similar AI-driven creative platforms
- Familiar with Photoshop, After Effects and/or Nuke
- Familiar with Substance Painter and/or building procedural shading networks
- Good understanding of Maya, Houdini, C4D, Blender, or similar
- Good understanding of Redshift, Arnold, or similar ray trace renderer
- Comparable software experience considered
- Portfolio demonstrating strong artistic ability and experimentation with both traditional CG and AI-assisted workflows

Hornet is seeking a CG Intern to join the 3D department. At Hornet, we understand that an exquisite and fully realized 3D world is a powerful tool for storytelling – and telling a story is what we do best! Whether it’s through crafting robust models, to imbuing shaders with rich levels of detail, or composing visually compelling lighting design, our 3D team is constantly pushing toward new and technically innovative ways to communicate through the medium of 3D design and animation. It is this attention and focus on the fine details that makes each project stand apart for its bold designs and captivating narratives.
Ideal candidates can proficiently model, look develop, and rig CG assets, as well as animate, light, and composite CG shots. CG Interns may work with live action footage, digital still photography, and rendered CG elements to create assets that are seamlessly integrated into assigned shotwork.

Responsibilities:
- Support the motion team by working on new shots or revising existing shots as needed.
- Attend dailies with Senior Artists, Creative Directors, and Hornet Directors to get feedback on work and be in tune with notes on key shots and larger production challenges.
- Share your artistic and technical inspirations and knowledge with fellow artists and leads to help steer assignments to suit your interests.

Hornet is seeking a Graphic Design Intern to join us for our summer internship session. This role will play an important part in supporting new business and pitch development for Hornet’s Brand Studio, helping translate creative ideas into compelling visual presentations and treatment decks. The Graphic Design Intern will work closely with Creative Directors, Directors, Producers, and the Brand Studio team to craft visually engaging pitch materials that bring creative concepts to life. A significant portion of this role focuses on presentation design and building pitch decks that clearly communicate creative ideas to clients. The ideal candidate is a design enthusiast with strong layout and storytelling instincts who enjoys shaping ideas into clear, polished presentations.
Familiarity with animation and production pipelines including cel, CG, motion design, VFX, or stop motion is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Support the Creative Development and Brand Studio teams in building pitch decks, treatment presentations, and new business materials
- Translate creative ideas from Directors and Creative Directors into clear, compelling visual narratives through presentation design
- Research references, collect inspiration, and help distill concepts into well-designed treatment decks and presentation layouts
- Design and format sales decks, pitch materials, and visual presentations for client opportunities
Develop marketing and promotional assets across studio initiatives as needed - Collaborate with Creative Directors, Art Directors, Producers, and strategists during the development phase of projects
- Maintain studio standards and help ensure presentations are aligned with Hornet’s visual identity
- Support special projects including studio website updates, social content, and internal creative materials
Qualifications
- Strong interest in typography, layout, composition, and presentation design
- Ability to translate ideas into clear, engaging visual storytelling within decks and presentations
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Positive, proactive communicator who thrives in a collaborative studio environment
- Keen eye for detail and strong design sensibility
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Familiarity with presentation design and layout-heavy work
- After Effects, Figma, or Maxon C4D knowledge is a plus. Animation skills are a plus but not required

Responsibilities:
- Leverage existing relationships and networks to generate immediate business opportunities.
- Source and qualify prospects to expand Hornet’s client base across creative production, branded content, and media.
- Conduct outreach, follow-ups, and tailored communications to ensure prospects are ready for handoff to the Account Executive team.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to align on strategy, provide market insights, and support growth initiatives.
Track engagement metrics, maintain prospect lists, and ensure smooth handoffs and pipeline visibility.
Qualities:
- Proven experience driving business development in a production studio, creative agency, or related environment.
- Strong existing relationships or a network of contacts to accelerate growth.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly articulate Hornet’s value proposition.

- Comfortable working independently and delivering results quickly.
