Job Description:

Hornet is seeking a full time Art Director to join the team in New York, NY. The Art Director will create concept and production art based on creative briefs, and execute design work for 2D, 3D and Stop Motion animation, which may include character design, concept art, matte paintings and photoreal composites.

This person must be meticulous, have the ability to communicate proactively, manage time accordingly based on each project’s specifications & resources, with passion, enthusiasm and the ability to technically & creatively realize the Director’s vision. The Art Director must be creatively driven, well versed in executing various design styles based on Directors’ creative direction, have the ability to adapt to creative trends, explore & create new styles & techniques.

Regarding COVID-19:
For our immediate needs, this position will be remote. In the long term, this would be an in office position out of our Manhattan Studio.

-Bachelor (4-Year) degree with a degree in Fine Arts, such as Illustration, Graphic Design, or Film
-Proven work experience as a Designer with at least 5 years in the commercial or film industry with at least 3 years of Art Direction
-Extensive experience with digital technology and software packages (e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, and Maxon C4D)
-Experience with color, lighting, special effects, 3D concept work, developing transitions and compositing

Creative Director

The role of a CD is to create, plan, and deliver strategic creative vision for our clients. The CD plays a monumental role in selling the vision of a project and ensuring the overall quality of the work we produce is at the standard we demand as a studio.

Ideal candidates should possess the soft sensibilities of an artist combined with the authoritative punch of a creative leader. We want someone with strong people skills, proven management experience, and a dynamic personality who can lead large and small teams of artists, collaborate with directors, bid against complex briefs, and present work to clients confidently and clearly. Candidates should have a strong design background, a creative mind, and unrivaled storytelling skills.

Hornet is seeking a talented and passionate Designer to join our team!

The ideal candidate must be efficient, detail-oriented, and able to work under tight deadlines. But most importantly? They must be completely dedicated to the craft of design—whether it’s motion, illustration, animation, or some other visual-oriented “-ation” between. We want people who will create illustrations and designs that surprise and delight us—and our clients—every time. They must be comfortable working with various design styles and aesthetics, and have a robust understanding of motion and animation. The designer will work alongside our creative team and under the creative guidance of our directors to develop the creative vision of each project.

Successful candidate will have a positive attitude under stress and be able to work on teams of various sizes.

Senior Producer

Job Description:

Hornet is seeking a full time Senior Producer to join the team.

The Senior Producer must be meticulous, have the ability to communicate proactively, manage time accordingly based on each project’s specifications & resources, with passion, enthusiasm and the ability to technically & creatively realize the Director’s vision. The staff Senior Producer must be creatively driven, well versed in various types of production management based on Directors’ creative direction, and have the ability to adapt to creative feedback. Successful candidate will have the ability to bid, pitch, and produce projects within the scope of work, budget, effectively provide client care, manage agency and client expectations through communication and effectively manage a team of artists.

The Senior Producer is responsible for overseeing production process, working closely with the Executive Producer, Head of Production, agency and clients from project kick off, working with leads & production teams to determine technical specs, workflow, tracking of all assets, notes, to final quality control and delivery.
