Marie Curie, a charity dedicated to supporting individuals with terminal illnesses, enlisted the expertise of S&S to address the collective reluctance people have in engaging in candid conversations about the topic. From the project's inception, Moth, in collaboration with S&S, opted for a visual approach that veered towards everyday objects and scenarios, recognizing the potential humor that could arise from such familiarity. Steering clear of anthropomorphism, the animation embraced a more literal approach to design, featuring objects like a stick of butter adorned with googly eyes rather than overly personified characters. This strategic choice ensured that the wit and humor of the euphemisms resonated immediately, preventing viewers from getting lost in questions about the animated characters' nature or origin. By crafting realistic textures for each concept and employing close-up shots with vibrant backgrounds and real-world lighting, Moth created a vibrant, lighthearted death-odyssey that creatively contrasts the serious subject matter of the film.
