In this 30-second spot for Amazon Alexa, Clim Studio delivers an energetic film packed with tactile CG and upbeat live-action. Conceptually, the film unveils a new way for customers to shop and save with everyday grocery shopping, tied together with clever visual metaphors. Visually, Clim's use of solid colors and graphic compositions, mixed with the human touch of live-action, creates a mixed media recipe that belongs on any shopping list.
Combining an editorial language with concept-driven visual analogies and a hint of a technological flavor (it is Amazon after all!), this mixed media film sends no mixed messages. The CG feels tactile, not techie. The colors are vibrant, joyful, and smart. Overall, the CG maintains purposeful imperfections to still feel real, while also offering much more flexibility when it comes to layouts, lighting, camera movements, and more. Combining this CG animation with the human touch of live-action offers a stylish look of polished-meets-raw.
