Teaming up with &Walsh and Frooti for the third time, director Yves Geleyn brings the beloved Frooti world back to life with a seamless blend of stop motion and CG animated techniques, expanding the possibility of what the minis get up to along with superstars Alia Batt and Ram Charan. In this series of three films the loveable minis and sometimes clumsy Yeti ride magical zeppelins launch through the air, duel, dance, and climb miniature towers in their commitment to share Frooti.
The joy in making these is in getting lost in the whimsical world. This approach of blended mediums created more freedom for intricate storytelling and bigger adventures, while preserving the tactility of a practically built stop motion set and old style movie magic. The more you watch, the more storylines you'll find.
These encapsulate a lot of effort in the pursuit of fun. Creative Director Evan Schoonmaker took on the technical challenge of utilizing the strengths of all three animation styles and VFX to maintain the 'perfectly imperfect' hand made feel of stop motion throughout.
A true collaboration from start to finish, these spots toy with what is real and what is fantasy. At times ironically using the power of technology to mimic something that is handmade.
Whether 3D designers or miniature painters, capturing moments in-camera or tricking the eye with VFX, the whole team worked tirelessly to retain the feeling of a dreamlike world grounded in practical sets.
