Robin might be a terrible mouse. But she’s a wonderful robin. That's the "be yourself" message behind Parabella's new 30-minute stop motion Christmas special. Written and directed by Dan Ojari and Mikey Please, and produced by Aardman Animations, the Oscar-winning British studio behind Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep, Robin Robin tells the story of a robin raised by a family of burglar mice. It features a cast of woodland creatures made from natural materials, such as woolen felt and twigs. And it's feel-good to the max.
According to Aardman’s Managing Director, Sean Clarke, Robin Robin, "Is a bit like The Ugly Duckling meets Oliver Twist. An egg fortuitously rolls into a rubbish dump. The robin hatches and is raised by a family of mice. The robin grows up trying to act like a mouse. She fluffs her feathers to look like a mouse and enjoys the delights of cheese – but she can’t sneak into houses.”
"It’s a strange and beautiful thing to see Robin, our birdy burglar pal, dreamed up many years ago, finally hatching her way into the world. We couldn’t have hoped for better partners than Aardman Productions and all the unbelievably talented crew who brought Robin and her story to life. We are grateful to the depths of our depths."
